As an Electrical Engineer, you are responsible for translating the design of a new purification plant from P&ID (Process and Instrumentation Diagram) to an integrated and detailed electrical design. Within your professional discipline, you play a central role and pay close attention to the interfaces with other project disciplines (Process Technology/Civil/Mechanical Engineering). Depending on the size and complexity of the project, you create the design yourself or work with a team of electrical designers and draftsmen. You assist the technical manager with preparing and assessing project costs and risks. You provide input for large integrated tenders and when writing quotations. During projects, you focus on the end result, while you perform risk assessments during the duration of a project. During the realization of the design at the project location, you act as a source of information and are closely involved in testing and commissioning. Projects you will be working on include installations for removing nutrients and drug residues from urban wastewater, the expansion and/or new construction of sewage treatment plants for a city to improve water quality or the realization of energy and raw materials factories for processing residual materials from the purification process. You will therefore work directly on projects with great social relevance.
